Chapter 1.

Eight o’clock in the morning.
I was lying in my bed while I watched my electronic watch count. The only thing I found out, was that time moves very slow this way.
I haven’t slept the whole night. I couldn’t think of anything then my plan. I was going to run away, today. No one was going to stop me.

I live in a sad, rich family. My mother died when I was two. She fell down the stairs in our house. My dad keeps saying he’s so sorry, still I know he did it on purpose.
My big brother has traveled away from the city. I envy him, because now, dad has only one to beat for fun. And that’s me.
My father is a bastard. He earns a lot of money but uses a lot of them on drinks and parties. Whenever he is drunk, he beats the crap out of me. I’m not strong enough to fight back, so I just wait until he’s done, always thinking about how I could kill him.

But instead I’m going to run away. I could feel the excitement inside my body, as my clock counted down.
What I was waiting for, was for my dad to go too work. As soon as he would leave, I would soon leave too. I know it’s kind of strange since I’m only 17 years old. But I’ve got no choice. I hate the life here with my dad, so I got to leave.

Finally I could hear my dad closing the door with a bang. I quickly got up from my bed and pulled fourth a bag that I had packed yesterday. It contained some food, something to drink and other good things. I hope it’s enough for the travel I was going on though.
I went to the bathroom and took a quick shower. Then I got some breakfast. It was weird thinking about, that this was my last meal in this house. I couldn’t help feeling that I was going to miss this house someday.
Maybe I would return someday. I grinned for myself and thought, “If I would return, it would be to have my revenge.”

As I stepped out on the street, I took a last look on my house. I had lived here in 17 years, going though good and bad times. To think I was never going to return here again.
I turned away and started walking down the street. I looked up at those huge buildings that had been in my view from my room.
Flying cars pasted by as I looked up. I had never seen anything else, then this huge city. I didn’t knew what laid outside this city.
This city had a weird law. Children could not leave town before they reached the age of 18. I was actually going to break the law. I sighed and smiled.

After a long walk though the city I began to wonder how I would get out. I couldn’t just walk out like that. Somebody would notice me, I guess.
I suddenly stopped and looked at my clock. Damn! My dad was coming home now! If I didn’t hurry, he would call the police!
But before I could do anything, someone grabbed my arm. I shocked and looked at the person. It was a vixen in a police suit. She grinned and said to me, “So you thought you could run away? Well think again! I better get your father.”
She took a phone and started to call.
I took a quick look around. If I didn’t do something quick, it was back to my nightmare. I would never get a change like this again!
Suddenly I spotted a car standing all alone. Maybe the key was in?
“Sorry lady, but I’m not going anywhere!”
I gave her a quick jab in a stomach and got out of her grabs. I rushed to the car and jumped in. Lucky me, the key was in!
I had seen some movies about driving, but this was surely not going to be graceful. I started the engine and stepped on all I could. Suddenly the car took of, and I had to quickly steer up.
I had no idea, what I was doing, and this was getting a little more hectic then I thought.
Behind me I could hear police cars. And they had more control then me.
I tried to make the thing go faster, but nothing seemed to work. If just I had played more attention to the television.
Suddenly I felt a great bump. The police had hit me! And soon I would go down.
But then I saw the last part of the city. The city ended here!
When I got though, the police suddenly stopped following me. They just turned around. First I was confused, but then I cheered up. I have done it! I got out of town!

I was amazed about the view. Forest as long as the eye could see. And around in the forest, there was small and big mountains. It was beautiful.
Suddenly I could see a little temple like house in the middle of it all. It was really big and looked really old too. Maybe I could check it out some time.

After a long flying, A sudden beeping ruined the silence. I looked around on the panel, and panicked. The gas tank was empty! And now the car started to fall!
I had no idea what to do. I never really thought this was going to happen in the first place.
The car crashed down though the trees. Suddenly it hit a tree, and suddenly I was thrown out the front window. I felt myself falling down, and found out that there was a long way down. I landed on the ground on my back and felt the pain though my back. Right after I fainted.

I woke up, seeing flames. Apparently the car had set on fire, right after I flew out. I had been lucky.
I slowly got up, and could still feel the pain in my back. It must have been quiet a fall.
“Wait a minute… My bag. Where is… Oh no!”
I looked up at the flaming car. My bag must have stayed in the car. And now all my food, all my stuff was burned to ashes. Just great.
I got up and wondered what to do now. I haven’t got this far in my plans for my future.
Suddenly I remembered the temple I had seen on my way here. Maybe somebody lived there. Or maybe I could at least find some food. And it couldn’t be to far away.
I took off as soon as I had regained some powers. I hoped that I could get there before long. I didn’t feel like sleeping in this forest, since I didn’t know anything about the wildlife. And I wouldn’t be able too sleep anyway.

But I wasn’t that lucky. It proved to be more difficult then I thought, and before long it had turned dark. All night I just continued walking, hoping I would find the temple. My change was getting slim though. It was hard making it though the forest. It was more a jungle then a forest!
The next day I was beaten. I didn’t have much more energy, and I could feel the hunger all way down my stomach. I wasn’t used to starve that much at home, so this was painful. I was beginning to think that this was a bad idea after all.
But then I saw something. Something that looked like a structure of a temple. I made it! I found the temple! I speeded up, although it wasn’t that faster. Then I finally made it to the temple.
“Hey?! Anyone here?!” I suddenly felt my leg losing. I fell to my knees, and coughed wildly. I couldn’t faint now? I had made it this far, and now I had reached my limits.
Suddenly I could hear a female voice call me. I looked up but couldn’t see clear anymore.
“H-Help me…” I manage to say. Then I fainted.
